Lance found his love for fetish carving in 1986, inspired by his older brother Daniel Quam he was drawn to his brothers intricate detail of lifelike creations. Reaching to his highest depth of creativity, he today carries on the tradition he and his siblings have been blessed with to represent the art in the family. Lance is the brother of Wilfred and Arvella Cheama also well known carvers of the Zuni Pueblo. Renowned Zuni carvers Stanley Natewa(d) and Travis Lasiloo were students of Lance.
